Just back from a couple of big trips and happy to report a nice surprise we found when flying Alaska Airlines.
When flying coach, you have the option to purchase a Mediterranean Tapas Picnic Pack that is both vegan and dairy free.
The pack includes:
- Food Should Taste Good® multigrain chips,
- Mario® snack olives,
- Wild Garden™ sun-dried tomato hummus dip,
- Madi K's almonds,
- Stretch Island Fruit Co.™ fruit strip,
- Harry London dark espresso chocolate
The snack pack was $6 and they only accept credit or debit cards. There are no cash transactions on Alaska Airlines flights.
In addition, if you are flying on a north or westbound flight that is more than 3.5 hours, you can purchase a fruit and cheese snack pack. It includes wheat crackers but they are conveniently packaged separately. The cheese and fruit platter included Beecher's Flagship, Tillamook® Cheddar and a wedge of Brie with fresh seasonal fruit. The cost was $7.
We always pack food when we fly, but this is such a great option, especially for return trips when it is sometimes hard to find food to bring home.
