Okay, here is another one from the MOM side of this blog and not the gluten free side.
The following article talks about how children who engage in make-believe creative play are better at developing the ability to self-regulate their behavior and therefore better learners. Unfortunately, they have noticed a decline in the ability to self-regulate as childs play has turned more and more to toys which actually limit their imaginations and more structured activities.
