This is not only a beautifully colorful salad, but it taste great and is simple to make.
- 12 ounces of spinach (I buy the baby spinach leaves in the bag)
- 1 pint of sliced strawberries
- 2 T sesame seeds
Wash the spinach and spin dry. Toss with the sliced strawberries and sesame seeds. Chill.
For the dressing:
- 1/4 cup safflower oil
- 2 T white vinegar
- 1 1/2 T sugar
- 2 T thinly sliced green onions
- 1 t salt
- dash of pepper
- splash of hot sauce (Thai Kitchen Spicy Thai Chili Sauce)
Put all of the ingredients in a glass jar and shake. Toss with the salad before serving.
I have to add, that one of my most used kitchen tools is my salad spinner.
It makes washing and drying lettuce a breeze and, better yet, it so fun to use that my kids beg me to let them make the salad.
